When carrying out repairs on refrigeration or air‑conditioning pipework, it is essential to purge the inside of the tubing with nitrogen to prevent oxidation around the joint area. This must be done both before and throughout the brazing process to ensure a clean, reliable connection. This specialised tool simplifies that procedure by allowing the user to initiate the purge function at a preset, regulated flow rate. With a simple turn of the control knob, the unit can then be switched to the braze mode, which delivers an ideal flow of approximately three litres per minute—sufficient to protect the joint from oxidation while keeping nitrogen consumption to a minimum. This dual‑mode operation ensures that air cannot enter the system during the repair, improving overall reliability and helping maintain system cleanliness. Designed for straightforward integration into existing setups, the tool connects directly to any standard nitrogen regulator and is fitted with a 1/4” SAE flare outlet, making it fully compatible with common HVAC service hoses.
